I’ve made all the changes I could on my end, to do anything more I’d likely have to wait on the phone for an hour to see if they could make any changes on their end.

Thanks for the suggestion Michael, the problem is that all of the features for my router seem to be automated and its a router/cable box supplied by the provider. Starting to think I should’ve studied network administration instead of law haha.
#IFI ZEN STREAM TIDAL CONNECT UPDATE#
I’m pretty sure the Ethernet connection is working since it wouldn’t update firmware without it but every once in a while the white light turns to green which leaves me head scratching since it only does that when in wifi mode lol. The only solution I can find is to factory reset, update firmware, connect to the WiFi network and leave the Ethernet cable in. Now it shows that this is an automatic feature that can be turned off in the network menu along with the wireless network all together, but when I try to do that in the setup it just simply won’t save the setting, and worse it seems to have a bad effect where the WiFi network is no longer showing up in the network tab causing the auto hotspot feature to trigger. If I don’t connect to my WiFi network I keep getting the flashing hotspot light that blocks music from being played. That said, I’ve seem to run into issues with the Ethernet connection and the automatic hotspot feature. To be fair, wifi was working well enough for me, other than the odd green light that came on, but it didn’t cause any issues with functionality. I’m experimenting with the Ethernet connection, moved my router to the living room, added more unsightly cables to the stereo system but I was curious about how much better the connection would be via cable or if it would impact the SQ. That said, can anyone tell me if they’ve compared the SQ between wifi and Ethernet? I have a basic Ethernet cable and couldn’t really tell the difference, wondering if spending more on an audiophile variety will yield any results.įYI, my unit came with a 15v psu, has worked fine, Unit can run warm at times but never hot. Anyway I think they need to tweak the range between fast and fastest.

I keep getting indicators with the connection light moving from white to green, I’ve done all of the tweaks suggested by ifi to strengthen the connection but I still keep getting the green light on occasion even after the WiFi router was almost touching the unit, Ethernet too. I too had some issues with the updates over WiFi and getting things going, but after an Ethernet update I have things running ok now using tidal connect over WiFi with the occasional reset of the unit so it appears as a device on tidal connect. Fist time posting, great thread guys, surely the definitive one when it comes to the ZS, hopefully ifi is keeping track.
